2008 Texas Junior Masters – August 10-11, 2008 and August 13-15, 2008
The 2008 Texas Junior Masters will be held at the beautiful Hyatt Hill Country Resort in San Antonio, TX. for 13-18 Age Divisions and ColoVista in Bastrop, TX for Age Divisions 12 & Under.
Texas Junior Masters growing outside of Texas with 4 out of 6 2008 Champions being outside of Texas.
- Abraham Ancer from Mexico becomes the first Boys 16-18 back to back Texas Junior Masters Champion and says "I'm looking forward to next year" as he goes for 3 in a row.
-Daniel De La Garza from Monterrey, MX. dominates Hyatt Hill Country Resort finishing the last 2 rounds six under par and wins the boys 13-15 division 18 strokes clear.
- Ryann White from Lubbock,Tx. breaks away as the Girls 13-18 champion after being in a 3 way tie for first after the 2nd round.
-Texas Team Austin wins Jr National Team Competition
The 12 and under divisions played at beautiful ColoVista GC in Bastrop TX Aug 10-11,2008
Chandler Phillips from Huntsville, TX. won his first Texas Junior Masters jacket with a dominating 5 under par on the last day to win the Boys 11-12 division and Brad Dalke after finishing 2nd the last two years finally breaks through as the Boys 9-10 Texas Junior Masters Champion over defending Champion David Snyder who came a very close second place to Brad. After Brad being awarded his Texas Junior Masters jacket Brad says "I'm going fishing and have some cold root beer in my jacket"
Kallie Gonzalez from Montgomery,TX wins her first Texas Junior Masters jacket with a 161 total in the Girls 11-12 division and in continuing the great success Mexico is having in this event Monica Dibildox from Mexico wins the Girls 9-10 division.
Brian Terlesky from Youngstown, Ohio wins the 8 and under division with a very impressive 5 under par and Julie Lucio from Brownsville,TX winning the Girls 8 and under.

The Boys 13-15, 16-18 and Girls 13-18 division will be a 54 hole stroke play competition held August 13-15, 2008 @ Hyatt Hill Country Resort. (Resumes not required)
All age divisions will play the Oaks and Creeks course.
AJGA Exemption is as follows:
- Boy 16-18 Champion 1 Tournament Exemption
- Boy 13-15 Champion 1 Junior All-Star Tournament Exemption
- Girls 13-18 Champion 1 Tournament Exemption

The Boys and Girls 12 and under divisions will be a 36 hole stroke play competition being held August 10-11, 2008 @ Colovista in Bastrop, TX. (*8 and under, 9-10 and 11-12) (Caddies allowed)
*8 and under divisions will play 18 holes/9 each day. |
The Texas Junior Masters has quickly become one of the “must play” summer events and has certainly been recognized as one of the prestigious events in Texas.
